Let Every Day Be Christmas

Hello, how is everyone?

Sorry for not visiting and missing out on everything for all this time. All that has happened and the changes. Thank you to all who have come by and drop us emails. We really appreciate that.

It's good to be back. We'll never be able to catch up but we'll ramble along and hope to pick up as much as we can from where we've left off. So, please don't be too hard on LS. I have. But it's time to be more gracious to her again. After all, it is that time of the year again...'the naughty or nice bit'.

LS says in that case let every day be Christmas if that is what it takes for me to be nice. Hmm...have I spoken too soon?

Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsels, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself...

Take Me Home, Country Roads

... Life is old there

older than the trees

younger than the mountains

growin' like a breeze ...

Happy : Are we there yet?

LS : Almost ...

country roads, take me home

to the place I belong ...

... I hear her voice
in the mornin' hour she calls me
the radio reminds me of my home far away
and drivin' down the road I get a feelin'
that I should have been home yesterday, yesterday...

Happy : Hey LS, this is not really the country road, is it?
LS : Hmm... let's just pretend that it is, ok?

Country roads, take me home ...
Take me home, country roads ...

Serendipity Park - Temporary Closed

Welcome to Serendipity Shore! Can you feel the salty breeze?

Let's hope we'll be here for a while. Nothing exciting going on while we were away. The only highlight was our frequent weekend getaways, mostly to the seaside. No pictures. Prefer gazing off into the deep blue sea through our own eyes rather than through camera lens.

But we do have some pictures taken a while back on a trip to a fishing village.

To walk on or not, that is the question

The sea looks so murky

Something dangerous could be lurking underneath

She sniffed a seashell by the seashore
Can you try speed saying that?

The wind was so strong that my face almost got blown off

Is my butt still there?

Do you think all this sea breeze is good for our fur?

Thank you so much for all your prayers and positive vibes!

Please Help Stop This Cruelty

It's just a dog.

This comment came from some who responded to the news about the abuse of a poodle named Sushi that caused quite an uproar recently.

If you have not watched the video or heard about it, here's the video.

It really breaks your heart watching the helpless little poodle pleading with his fearful eyes. Can you imagine the fear he goes through each moment of his life? He doesn't even understand what he has done to deserve such a treatment.

Is it really just a dog? What has become of humanity? Animals are God's loving creation too and they are a gift to us.

To date there is still no news about the abusers and the whereabout of Sushi. No one knows if he's still alive.

Please pray for Sushi to be saved and given a new lease of life and a loving home.

Please help to sign the petition too:

Let us all help to be the voice and protector of the helpless and defenceless.

Prayers and Positive Vibes

Can I ask for a favour?

Please help to pray and keep paws crossed
that Million will be found and return home safely.

Recently Million slipped out of the house and was believed to be dognapped. Her mom and sister, Dollar, are really anxious, worried and missing her badly. Please pray that whoever found or took her will do the right thing by returning her to her rightful family.

We all know how heartbreaking it is to be separated from our loved ones. I know I almost gave LS a heart attack recently when I made a break for it took some fresh air during a visit to the grandparents. Good thing Granny saw me from her bedroom window and alerted LS. LS gave me a lengthy lecture and crated me each time she couldn't keep an eye on me.

Don't you think she was a bit too harsh?

I was just outside checking peemails.
Didn't know it was such a big offence.

The Things Humans Read

Happy Belated New Year! Yes, we've been really slack... As usual, LS has been busy with the things that only seem to affect humans. We dogs don't have issues like that, do we?

LS has been busy working on a paper. I'm not really sure what she meant by that but her face seems to be constantly buried in a lot of papers. I thought I better take a look, just in case I'm missing out on something interesting.

Happy see...
Happy read...

Happy's bored...

Happy's glad didn't miss out much

Or did I?

Tis the season ...

... to be jolly ... fa la la la la la la la LA!

How is everyone doing?

It's starting to feel more festive around here. LS has started on her spring cleaning. Hopefully she'll have the tree up in time before Christmas, judging by the pace she's going.

Recently I had to go to the vet two weeks in a row. First, I had the runs so I had my butt poked. If that wasn't unpleasant enough, LS had the vet done a full blood test too. I had to sit there and watch my blood being drained out.

I've had quite enough when he had a biopsy done on my lump. I couldn't resist turning around to give him a good chomp. It's just too bad that he's faster than my old doc. He drew back his hands so fast before LS could even blink. I must be losing my grip.

Then the lump area where he took the tissue sample from became sore and swollen. That had LS rushing to the pharmacy for some iodine and antiseptic cream. Thankfully it's better now.

One morning a week later, LS didn't give me my breakfast. She said she's taking me out. We're eating out? No, it was another visit to the vet. This time to have scaling done. Apparently my teeth got rather dirty ever since LS put me on canned food. Now it's back to the kibbles again.

I've had quite a rough time there, didn't I?

Now all that is behind me ...

I'm going to be spending more time snoozing

Hopefully each time I wake up there'll be more gifts from Santa hee...!

Here's wishing everyone
A Happy Holidays!

We'll be going around to visit soon.

Who Loves Ya Baby?

We're still here. How hard do you think it is to start blogging again after such a long break? Think we must've rusted here as we don't know where to start.

So...while we're still trying to gather our thoughts together and crank up this blog, here's a video to watch. Do treat it as a re-run if everyone has already seen it ;-)

What do you think of this video? LS said the look on Wilson's face at the door made her cry but she was glad it ended well.

Oh by the way, I dedicate below to you, LS. Hope you get the hint, LS! No more neglecting this blog!

Busy life, not enough time
To look in the mirror
Life in the fast lane...
Look around and take note
Who really loves you?
Don't get caught up in the clouds
Or you'll go insane
When it seems everyone is needing something
Remember who's always been there for you

Who loves ya baby?
Who really loves ya baby?
Who's always been on your side morning and night?
Who loves ya baby?
Who really loves ya baby?
Who's gonna see to it that
You're treated right?

Who loves ya baby?

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

What Do You Do...

... when it rains...

enough for walks to be cancelled

Stuck indoor

Bored Jumbo on her back

Keep your trunk up, Jumbo.
I'll take you for a walk in the woods
What do you mean they are just furniture?
They are made of wood and cane, aren't they?

Done with the walk. What's next?

Hey LS, can we make paper boats with that?

So what do you do when it rains?

Thankful Thursday

LS:

Does it sound crazy to say that I'm thankful for a break of monotony of the smell in my house? On normal days the place smell mostly of cleaning agents, vinegar and dettol. No, I'm not living in a hospital LOL. But I do live with a dog.

Recently I attempted to bake a cake. I was really relieved that I didn't produce some blocks of unidentified and inedible objects. The cake wasn't much to shout about but the smell of baking was something else!

You know how certain scents evoke certain memories... The smell of baking cake wafting in the air brought me back momentary in time to those happy moments of my childhood. The times we used to gather around in the kitchen, talking and laughing as we watch mom bake. Although moments like this were long gone, but the memories are enough to warm my heart all over again. I'm thankful for God's gift of our sense of smell.

A Happy Dog on Thursday:

I'm thankful for my sense of smell too. The nose knows... To a dog, the whole world is a smell! It updates us constantly on all that is happening around us, alerts us to the presence of food (very important), help check peemails, acts as GPS...the list is quite endless, isn't it?

Don't worry LS, we're not lost.

Just give me a sec to consult my GPS

Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers now!

What are you thankful for?

Flower Power

No, this is not about the hippies' 70s peace movement. This is about LS goofing off from work...for this.

Floria show

Unfortunately she chose the wrong day to goof off hahaha. The whole place was swarmed with preschool kids. A few hurried snapshots and that ended her time there. Something about camera flashes, chattering and clowns made it hard to connect with nature hehehe.

The whole place was covered with different kinds of flowers and plants. Although the theme was heliconias, the highlight seemed to be on orchids.

Orchids on display

Orchids in competition

Orchids on sale

In case you're wondering what was I doing at that time...

LS could've been nice enough to take me along,

couldn't she?

How was your weekend?

Do You Remember

Me?

Here's me trying to catch some morning sun but no thanks to LS' plants, all I get is a bit of filtered sunlight.

I've been spending a lot of time lazing around quietly. Think I truly amaze myself for being so quiet. LS said I'm aging gracefully now although I think it's more likely due to the cool soft breeze we're getting plenty of around here lately.

What can be more relaxing than lazing around watching leaves and grass blades dancing in the wind?

Kind of make you float, isn't it?

What is your favourite pastime of late?

Note: A heartfelt thank you from us and Furby's family for all your comforting words, thoughts and prayers. Truly a comfort.

Thank You

Dear all,

Thank you for your prayers and positive vibes. They have been answered. Furby has recovered fully now and no longer in pain. But she has gone on to a better place because God loves her more and wants her old and weary little body to rest.

Her condition deteriorated further yesterday and she started rejecting the saline drips and jabs due to blood clot. The vet gave her a drug to thin her blood but it didn't work. There wasn't anything else the vet could do so the only humane thing to do is to let her go.

No one knows why her kidneys failed. It happened so suddenly without any signs. Although it's hard to let our little furry friends go, it's harder still to cling on and watch them suffer in pain, isn't it?

Run free, Furby. You have earned your angel wings.

Wings are not only for the birds above
for God gifted you with a dog to love

He knew the love that you could give
for he knew the perfect place for that dog to live

and as you have a void that can't be filled
remember that your memories can't be killed.

The love you gave to your four legged friend
is a gift of love that will help you to mend.

Love from above will always be felt
as the wings are added your heart will melt

When you are feeling low
you will still have a place to go

for you can always talk and share
with a friend who will always be there.

A Prayer Request

Dear all,

A furry friend of ours is in a critical condition and her family is devastated. Due to a sudden acute kidney failure, she is put on drip now. It's really sad to hear that she's in a lot of pain. The vet says her condition is not too good. If she doesn't pass urine within the next 48 hours, her family have to be prepared for the inevitable.

Furby doesn't have a blog because she prefers to be outside chasing bugs and leisurely watching the world pass by.

Her sister, Coco (background)

We would really appreciate it if everyone could keep her in your prayers and send positive vibes her way. Thank you.

Thankful Thursday

LS:

"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you
and that your joy may be complete"
John 15:11

When we get bogged down with setbacks in life, it is so easy to lose our joy, isn't it? So it has been with me in recent times.

Although God sent me rainbows, I was unable to hold on to the comfort and gladness for long.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain
God always sends rainbows, after the rain

Then, for a period of time, this blue kingfisher kept appearing day after day. For a while, I would just stare at it without thinking much of its presence. But one day I started talking to it LOL.

"G'morning Mr. Bluebird. Here again? You sure look happy and handsome in blue! Wish I'm as joyful as you"

Later on in that same morning, as I was reading an email, one particular sentence struck me.

A sign in a pet store read "If anybody has seen the Bluebird of Happiness, would you please notify this pet store?"

I have. I was just talking to it this morning!

Bluebird of Happiness

Needless to say, the content of the email was a message to me. I did not realise how much joy I have lost as I struggled with recent troubles. I was reminded that I need to keep my joyfulness in all circumstances. For joy is often contentment in spite of unsettling present.

I'm thankful for His joy and that He did not give up on me eventhough I'm such a slow learner LOL.

Sam I Am

What was that I've just heard?

LS took a peep outside and saw this

Is that you, Sam?

Remember the doggie that used to whine a lot and then he had moved out some time later? After that I had wished for a new doggie neighbour but that didn't happen. We did have a lovely couple from Virginia that moved in though. But it was all too soon before they headed back to Yorktown again.

Well, now Sam has moved back in again. Oh how he has grown! His barks are so much louder than mine and deeper too. No more whines too each time his humans go out.

Hmm...err...welcome back, Sam!

On another note, we would like to apologise to Mack and Sonic for this very belated thank you for these awards. Sorry it took us so long to post it. As usual, it's LS' fault.

Thank you, Mack!

Thank you Sonic!

Hope everyone is having a pawesome week so far!
