Thankful Thursday

"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them" Psalm 34:7

LS:

Yesterday while I was at a junction, a SUV whizzed past me at a neck-breaking speed only to have the driver slamming on his brakes really hard a short distance later at the traffic light. Thankfully no accident happened.

Often times, scenes like this reminds me of how thankful I am to be alive today. Some time back while I was driving on a dark night in the pouring rain, I almost didn't make it home. I remembered waiting at a traffic light at a t-junction with the rain hitting so hard that I could barely see through the windscreen.

I usually drive off a few seconds after the light turned green. But not at that time. Somehow my foot didn't budge at all in that few seconds. Just then as I was about to drive across, a car sped past from my right. The car skidded and crashed into a divider. It could have been me instead of the divider. Thankfully the driver escaped unhurt although his car was badly damaged. Thankfully an angel was there that night. I was and still am thankful for that split second. I am thankful for God's protection and His angels.

Happy:

Yesterday, the same SUV driver had a dog hanging half out of the passenger window. You could tell how fast the driver was going from the way the shih tzu's hair was whipped back in one direction. Thankfully he was hanging on by his straining leash. Thankfully LS managed to stop next to him at the traffic light and told the driver that it was dangerous to have his dog half hanging out of his car (no matter how cool it looked, I would've added). Thankfully the driver accepted it graciously. Otherwise it would have been a different post today heh...just kidding!

I am thankful to have a carrier to travel in

What are you thankful for? Hope everyone is having a thankful time.

This is our first TT and DoT post for this year at Thankful Thursday and Dogs on Thursday.

Smoked In

Some of you guessed correctly in the previous post! I was being lectured heh...I always look like this when being lectured at. In this case, for barking at a group of little kids outside. Couldn't help it, they were very noisy.

Last weekend I went to visit LadyY. I love going to her house as there's a big garden to play in. Mostly, I love the yummy snacks UncleT gives me. LS said UncleT is as old as time and his memory is not so good. That explains his constantly giving me snack after snack, forgetting that he has given me earlier. That's what I like about him hee...

I like him so much that I even followed him to the bathroom and got locked in with him. He didn't realise I was in with him till a while into his 'business' *cough cough* I know...eeww...I wouldn't have followed him in if I knew in the first place.

I came out a while later, feeling rather sorry for myself. Really. But not as sorry as LS. I smelled of thick cigarette smoke. It seems that UncleT loves to smoke when he's in his private toilet.

LS had to wind down her car window when we were driving home, trying to air me out. I had to be shampooed three times before I smell like my old self.

Good thing LS didn't think of taking a picture for the album. I looked so fuzzy and puffy after the bath. I guess you would be too if you have to go through three washings, wouldn't you?

Lesson to be learned : Never follow humans into the bathroom.

On another note, we received this lovely award from Abby. It's really so sweet of Abby to think of us.

Thank you, Abby!

The award states: "This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships!" In other words, blogs that receive this award "are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

We would like to pass this on to Bobby, Fenway, Mango, Peanut, Rambo, Ruby, Roscoe, Sophie & Louis & Paco & Milo.

Just Another Mindless Monday

Do you find that Mondays arrive too quickly whereas weekends just breeze past in a blink of an eye? Or is it just me feeling that way?

LS is back to her usual busy bee routine. So I'm pretty much left to my own devices. There's nothing much to do when you are left on your alone, don't you think? No access to entertainment at all. Hmm...

Want to play a game?

Guess what I was doing in the picture?

a) Looking at my reflection on the wall

b) Spotted something on the wall

c) Being lectured

d) Lost in thoughts

e) Heard the wall talking (?!!)

f) Any others

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Did you all have a good celebration? Did you all make any new year resolutions?

Sorry we haven't been around lately. LS decided to take a break at the eleventh hour after she was done with her mad year end rush. I didn't know that her break meant a break from the computer too. But that's ok, at least she spent most of her holidays with me.

This is where I've been hiding, err I mean, sleeping, for the past few nights. Behind the table in the study. That was the most quiet place I could find in the house. The noisy fireworks outside was driving me nuts.

LS had trouble finding me the first night though. She kept calling me but I didn't answer. Think she wasn't really pleased with that.

Here's me, pretending to be just awaken when LS found me.

Do you have any problems with fireworks?

On another note, we've received some cards while we were away. Thanks everyone for sending us such lovely cards! We'll be going around soon to visit and to thank everyone.

We've also received this award. Sorry (again) it took us a while to post it.
