Hunger and Hope

Recently we received this in our email. The subject said it's a Film Festival Winner. After watching it, we understood why. And we saw what hunger is from another perspective.

Right now, more than 500 million people are living in 'absolute poverty' and more than 15 million children die of hunger every year.

World Health Organisation estimates that one-third of the population is underfed and another third is starving.

Unite for Hunger & Hope

LS:

This week I'm combining this post with my thankful post.

I have a confession to make. I used to be a fussy eater. Thankfully, that has changed. Or rather, I'm still improvising LOL! I have to admit that at times I am still fussy...but I'm getting there. So when I received this email about hunger and hope, I am reminded once again of not taking provision for granted.

Happy:

I have a confession to make too. I'm a fussy eater (just like LS hee...). At times I do kick up a fuss over my kibbles, wanting to eat LS' food instead. I know I should be thankful for having food and shelter when many of our friends are hungry and homeless. But LS said it's no fault of mine. She made the mistake of giving in to me all those times but now she's more resolved on being more firm with me. I'm thankful she knows better.

Oh wait, does that mean from now onwards I have to beg harder for human food?

Does anyone of you have eating issues like me? Or do you just eat anything that's edible?

Friday Funnies

TGIF! Things have been rather quiet here. Can't wait for the weekend though.

I'm sure most of you would've watched this video before. How about a re-run?

Anyone of you can play dead? I know I can't.

Have a good weekend!

Earth Day

Earth Day Graphics

Although Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22nd, we should live by it daily simply because we walk this earth throughout our lifetime.

Here are two songs to share. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Initially we were only looking for one song but we discovered the second song which we think is very beautiful and meaningful too.

We're thankful for Mother Earth

This year, LS is going to take me to the park again for a time of reflection. That means walkies for me too. Yay!

What will you be doing?

P/s: Not sure why after publishing this post, the alignment went off. It looked fine when we previewed it. Any idea?

Tuesdays are for...

...avoiding Monday blues. Hehehe...It works.

Well, Easter weekend came and gone. Ours were pretty similar to last year's actually. Dust hunting for LS and naps for me. That's what lazy Sunday afternoons are for, don't you think? How was your Easter weekend?

Recently I was tagged by Coco to list 5 random things about myself. Here goes:

1. I'm energetic
(LS : she's hyper)

2. I take security seriously
(LS : she's a barker)

3. I 'm careful with my toys
(LS : she's possessive of her toys)

4. I'm an attentive listener
(LS : only to the sound of fridge door opening, food container opening...)

Hey LS, why are you butting in after every sentence?

5. I like to park myself right on the centre of the papers when LS is reading them on the floor.
(LS : no comment)

I think most of you have already done this tag by now. If not, do have a go at it.

Thank you Snowy & Crystal, for this lovely award!
We really appreciate it.

Thankful Thursday

LS:

I'm thankful for the Cross, for I can place all my burdens, hopes and dreams before the Cross. For because He lives that life is worth the living.

I'm thankful for the time to slip away from work for a few hours yesterday. Just to do a little shopping. I don't fancy weekend shopping and the crowd. It's nice to shop on weekdays when there's no crowd. Imagine having a whole row of fitting rooms to yourself instead of a whole line of people in front of you. The same goes for checkout counters.

Happy:

I'm thankful for the hot cross bun (minus the raisins). Yummy!

* LS : Cough cough... *

Oops hee...I'm just a small dog. But LS always tell me that I am to be thankful for being God's loving creation. Perhaps some humans may not see us that way, but we are here for a purpose too. Often times we hear of the cruelty that has been shown to us in our animal kingdom, to the extent of near extinction in some cases. But all is not lost and without hope. We are seeing that in the hearts and actions of those who has done all they can to care and protect us. They love us the way God intends them to. I'm thankful for this.

What are you thankful for? Hope everyone is having a thankful time.

Take a Bow...

That's quite final, isn't it?

To think that this tree used to sway merrily outside our kitchen window

The gardener will be coming by to cut off the top. Wouldn't do if it damages the neighbour's roof.

We sure have a lot of freaky weather lately. The rain was so bad that last Sunday's F1 race had to be abandoned halfway. That sure made Jenson Button a happy man, didn't it?

What have I been up to?

Thankful Thursday

LS:

There's so much to be thankful for on these three words "It Is Done".

So I'm thankful for:

When I said "It is done" to the work assignments. March has been a crazy period! Talk about putting a new meaning to 'mad as a March hare' with all the mad dashing and hopping around!

When the lawyer said "It is done" at the end of my parents' legal case. My parents were in a road accident 5 years back when a pickup truck rammed into them. My mom fractured an arm while dad broke a leg. The road to recovery has been long and slow. The fractures took several months to mend but the emotional and psychological effects triggered off series of bouts to mom's diabetes and dad's weak heart. Although mom still struggles with her illness and dad walks with a slight limp, I'm very thankful they are still here with me today.

I'm also relieved that the court case has been done with and the truck company has made the compensation. This really helps with the medical bills.

When God said "It is done" upon making a way for finding hope and salvation when all seems lost.

Happy:

I'm thankful when LS said "It is done" after updating the blog and started catching up with everyone. I can do my happy dance again and sing Eric's happy song.

The sun has got his hat on...tra lalalalala...

Have you watched "Grease"? I was singing the song "Mooning" from Grease in my previous post. Hee...

What are you thankful for? Hope everyone is having a thankful time.
