"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them" Psalm 34:7
LS:
Yesterday while I was at a junction, a SUV whizzed past me at a neck-breaking speed only to have the driver slamming on his brakes really hard a short distance later at the traffic light. Thankfully no accident happened.
Often times, scenes like this reminds me of how thankful I am to be alive today. Some time back while I was driving on a dark night in the pouring rain, I almost didn't make it home. I remembered waiting at a traffic light at a t-junction with the rain hitting so hard that I could barely see through the windscreen.
I usually drive off a few seconds after the light turned green. But not at that time. Somehow my foot didn't budge at all in that few seconds. Just then as I was about to drive across, a car sped past from my right. The car skidded and crashed into a divider. It could have been me instead of the divider. Thankfully the driver escaped unhurt although his car was badly damaged. Thankfully an angel was there that night. I was and still am thankful for that split second. I am thankful for God's protection and His angels.
Happy:
Yesterday, the same SUV driver had a dog hanging half out of the passenger window. You could tell how fast the driver was going from the way the shih tzu's hair was whipped back in one direction. Thankfully he was hanging on by his straining leash. Thankfully LS managed to stop next to him at the traffic light and told the driver that it was dangerous to have his dog half hanging out of his car (no matter how cool it looked, I would've added). Thankfully the driver accepted it graciously. Otherwise it would have been a different post today heh...just kidding!
I am thankful to have a carrier to travel in
What are you thankful for? Hope everyone is having a thankful time.
This is our first TT and DoT post for this year at Thankful Thursday and Dogs on Thursday.

Oh my... it is really scary, wasn't it!!
We are glad you are ok. It's a good thing your guardian angel is watching over you!!
We know what you mean about some owners allowing their dogs to hang half their bodies out of the car window.. we have seen it a few times and always say a little prayer for the pup's safety!
Too cute and a fun post. Thank you. Have a blessed TT and hug that cute doggie for me.
That is scary, so glad you are safe.
I had a few weird drivers around me today...it felt like a video game at times just trying to stay safe! I love your dog!
that so scary but hey good thing the driver listen to your husband. it would really be a different story otherwise.

People should always drive with caution especially if their dogs are in the car. Silly people. We're glad all is ok.

Some people sadly will never learn. They should make it against the law to let a dog hang out of the window. I shudder to think what could happen.
How scary for you! One of mom's pet peeves are reckless drivers that go too fast! Thank goodness you are okay!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
I am glad to hear that you and your family are safe. You have good advice for those who drive. Take care, Buddy! Love, Dino
Glad to hear everyone is safe - adorable dog! :-) Have a joyful and blessed TT!

We never know when we get in a car what is going to happen. I love the pictures of your doggie, so sweet. Glad something was said to the driver. Have a safe Thursday.
Praise God you are okay! Great list of blessings! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. Happy Thankful Thursday!
We are glad that you didn't get in an accident.
We are thankful that mommy has a good job and that we have a warm home and loving family.
Hugs, Kodak
We are always thankful to read your posts. They so often make us feel good. That is a wonderful talent to have.
The same thing happened to my mom the other day! Some silly lady did not wait her turn at a stop sign and thankfully nobody was hurt!!
What a neat post! Oh, how I wish people would slow down in their cars (including my sweet hubby!). I, too, am so thankful for angels watching over us.
Thanks for stopping over...
Blessings!
Wow... it never ceases to amaze me how often I hear stories like yours. How grateful I am to God that everyone is ok!!!! Not something to witness, either. Blessings.

I am glad that you are safe. My Grandma uses a booster seat for my Aunt Mavis so she can see out the window. =)
Thankful you escaped without being hit. God was truly watching over you.
I had the same thing happen last spring. It was an older woman who ran a red light. Right into my car. Ripley was with me also, no injuries to us, just the car!
Blessings!
Cheryl
I am so glad you have an angel watching over you.
Phew how scary. I'm so glad LS was ok and the dog in the car is too. LS did a good job, she was his guardian angel for that moment.

I am thankful that I am sitting safely in the Chowmobile's boot whenever we travel. It's the best seat in the car! I can stand up to take a peek out of the window, moved around if I'm restless or lie down to take a nap when I'm bored.
I'm so glad you all are okay! You've got a smart dog there... :)
Happy,
I am thankful that you and LS are okay. Some humans are terrible drivers, aren't they? How stupid to let a doggie hang out the window.
Stay safe.

Oooops! I forgot to thank you for the award!
Thanks.

What a beautiful blog you have! I love the book of Psalms...reading through Proverbs right now though. You have one sweet baby there too! Thanks for visiting my blog it was my first Dogs on Thursday post!
I had a good time reading your post. Your dog looks so cute on her basket. :)
Thank you for visiting my blog today! I love the 'voice' in your writing. Isin't amazing how God has that perfect timing? Thankful for your safety and your dogs:) Amanda
Have a safe and wonderful week ahead. Thank you for visiting me today!
Phew what a lucky thing. My mum get very scared in the car. We was coming back from school the other day and it started snowing, we could not see anything and the car was all slippy. We lives in the country down the hill and we was very ascared of it being too slippy. But when we got to the hill it hadn't snowed there. Hurruff!

Praise the Lord for watching over you and your thankful heart!

I'm thankful for being able to sleep in mom's bed with her! Cuddling with her on cold nights keeps us both warm!
I love that scripture! I'm glad everyone is ok. Love the picture in the carrier. Too cute!

And thanks for stopping my my Thankful Thursday!
The servant just commented on another (non DWB blog) about the safety reasons for dogs in cars to be in a secured crate.
We're thankful to get to know you! Thanks for dropping by our blog!

Great post!
Thanks for visiting my blog, and I see we are both thankful for God's protection as we drive the highways!
Thanks for your prayers on my uncle's behalf. Many blessings to you.
That was a scary episode! Glad you are ok! Sometimes we don't think aboug our guardian angels until something like that happens.
Our city is known to have bad drivers!
Kisses and hugs

Awe Happy, I am so thankful an angel travels with you and your mommy and keeps you safe and from harms way. I am thankful for you and all your Thankful Thursdays and reminding us of how delicate life is each and everyday.

Thor is thankful for boys to romp with, snow to play in, and a new, less slippery floor to walk on!
I am thankful for an excellent walk this morning!
Hi Happy! I am glad you have a safe carrier to ride in when you are in the car.
Purrs,
JB
So true, I have often thought of this during several close calls while driving......I breathe a prayer, thank you Lord! So glad that you are safe and giving thanks as well! Have a wonderful weekend!! :)
I am glad you have a carrier to sit in too when you are driving. I have a seat belt which attaches to my harness in the car so I am not able to hang out the window. There should be some sort of law in place so that one has to have their dog/cat etc. secured somehow in the car. Just think if the car got into an accident and that doggy was hanging out the window?! Oh dear!!!!! Have a good weekend Happy. XOXOPeanut
OHHHHHHHHHH Happy!!!!!
it is really scary, wasn't it!!

We love you a lot!!!!!
we're thankful to have a wonderful family......like a warm place where love is everywhere!!!tankhful for mum and dad and for all of you that love us like we love you!!!!

This was a great post. I worry about dogs and children that hang out of car windows. It's so unsafe. It makes you wonder... What were they thinking. I'm thankful to have my dog Charli :>) I hope you have a great weekend!
Happy,
I have a car seat that I get strapped into. I guess I'm thankful that my mom takes such good care of me even if I'd rather sit on her lap when she's driving! I'm glad you and your mom were safe!
Pedro
we agree.. it is never 'cool' to leave a dog half hanging, esp. by itself and when driving at full speed. when manong and manang takes us out for rides, they never leave us alone. at least one human will always be there to hold on to us to make sure we are safe.
we are so glad your mum was able to get through the shih tzu's owner. we can say, she could have been that dog's angel for that day.
drooly kisses,
Aki
Wow--I am thankful for a warm house in this cold weather...especially since I got my hair cut.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'll definitely be checking yours out again!
I am thankful to have found this blog :)
How about an update?
Whoa, an angel was there to protect LS in that split second!
You are well cared by LS too, Happy, look at your carrier, I like the pretty colors.
Congrats on the Award in the previous post and thanks for passing onto me.
Muahhhh!
Oh, my Mommy doesn't mind us putting our head out of the window but she's sometimes very careful & drive slowly. Our heads could easily be decapitated! But I like it!
Butt wiggles,
Solid Gold Dancer
It always scares me when I see dogs out the window too far out.
Thank goodness the driver understood!
Hi LS and Happy :) I love to read your thankful thursday posts - it's really good to count one's blessings.
Cheers,
Latte
Oh Happy and LS leave it to you to make me stop and think about things I am grateful for, and to stop being selfish. I am grateful for the love of my family, who often put me before themselves and tend to my every need and just about everything I want. Aren't we loved pets so lucky? I just wish all animals were as lucky as us.
I'm so glad you and your Mommy escaped injury and that no one and no doggy got hurt.
A similar thing happend when my Mama was driving on a strange highway in a snow storm. My brother Daniel was a small baby at the time and he was in the car, and Mama was praying out loud to keep them safe and to show them the way. And He did! We all have our guardian angels.
We love you, Happy and LS. You always make us think about good things.
