Thankful Thursday

One of the setbacks of living in the hot climate is that a lot of pesky insects love it too. Especially the mosquitoes. We sure get plenty of them all year round.

So I was pleasantly surprised when a friend got me this gadget. It's an insect trap. And it really works!

As much as I appreciate this gadget, it's the thoughtfulness of the friend that I appreciate the most.

It's the thoughts that count the most. Very true indeed! That's a lot to be thankful for.

Happy:

I'm thankful for the insect trap too. With the gadget around :

I get less sprayed on with the neem and citronella repellant LS uses on me.

I get less shrieked at for trying to rub it off on LS, the furniture, the rugs and umm...the walls too.

I really, really dislike the repellant smell. It doesn't matter that LS said it's for my own good. I just want to be a fragrance free dog.

Do you have this problem with your humans? Or are you a walking bouquet of floral or citrus smell as well?

What are you thankful for? Hope everyone is having a thankful time too.

Thank you Lynn, for hosting Thankful Thursday.

We're participating in Dogs on Thursday too!

Hi Happy,
I hate mozzies... and ticks.. and houseflies... and lizards... ok it's a long list!! LOL!!
Ummm... with the recent hot/ humid weather, I start to 'smell funny'very fast after my bath, according to the humans. They say I have my unique Huskee smell that is a combination of vinegar (?!!), pee, saliva.. :(

Oh my God, Happy - don't get me started on humans and their obsesion with sickly flowery smells! They just have no taste! I go and roll in some Eau de Duck Poo or sometimes, I even get the really rare stuff - Parfum deSheep Poo - you know, really premium fragrance - and they get all fussy and immediately make me take a bath and then cover me in that disgusting rose or lavender stench!

Still, am glad the mosqiutoes aren't bugging you so much anymore...I get bitten by them all the time here in summer too! I also really hate the flies - they're always landing on me and tickling me. Thankfully, we're going into winter now so it's getting cold and all the insects are dying!

Mom is pretty good about letting us smell like dogs unless we roll in something that smells really great. Then she puts us in the bathtub before we can go in the house.

I love how you share both your & Happy's point of view! What fun. Sweet friend - that's what friends are for and it's awesome when we're reminded that we're thought of like that! What a blessing.

Ooh--I hate skeeters too...I'm thankful for the folks who come around and spray against them.
No--I don't like fragrances either. They try to put them on me at the booty shop, but I is allergic. Old Girl made them stop. P-U. ;P

Happy, what a nice thing to do, how kind your friend is. Now I read your post, I guess I'm thankful that I don't have to bother with one of those machines or get that repellant stuff sprayed on me. But then that makes me sad knowing that you do :(. Ihope that machine works well for you and LS Happy.

I agree with you, it is often the giver of the gift & not the gift itself. I am thankful for my family. I have been taking awesome pictures of them lately. I may wish I had this contraption later on when the skeeters are biting here! LOL

My humans don't spray me. Sometimes they make me stay inside when I want to romp, but it's too hot. It's nice that you got an insect trap to help you out! Happy Thorsday from Thor! (even if it is Friday; Mom is slow this week.)

Hi Happy, The thoughtfullness of others is a wonderful thing. What a great gift. Now you can sit outside and not worry about the bugs. I'm happy that this little gift made you happy. I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend ♥

Happy, I try to think of five things I'm grateful for, each night before I fall asleep. And you know what? every time, one of the things will involve Penny. I feel sure your human is constantly grateful for you, too.

Oh yeah - we are terribly bothered by those pesky mosquitos where we live too!

What a wonderful gadget!

Happy,

That's a good lookin machine. My mom thought it was a food processor or something! Very interesting. I HATE repellants too! When my mom sprays flea spray on me I roll on everything I can find to get it off! Fragrance free all the way!

I am thankful to have found this post - I just spent the day as a bug snack. Time to order one of these!

Hi Happy. I don't get sprayed because it's not good for my health, but then again, we don't have the bug problem you have in your climate. Frankly I don't blame you for wanting to wipe it off on whoever/whatever! I'm very glad you and LS have that gadget. Now, I hope, no more stinky sprays and no bug bites for you!

Happy, did you know I'm grateful for YOU?!
