Recently we've all read about the dangerous toy and the injury sustained by one doggy, Chai, as a result of playing with it. The full story can be read here as well as at Khyra's. It's really scary so we hope everyone do check the safety of the toys before getting them for us doggies.
I'm rather possessive of my balls. So when LS read about the incident, she wanted to inspect my ball.

The yellow ball does not have any holes at all.
The other one has two tiny holes which my tongue can't go in at all.
All good for playing with. Have you checked your toys?

I read Chai's story, and tears welled up in my humans eyes. I let her inspect all of my toys. I hope no other doggy has to feel the pain and suffering that Chai has had to deal with. I'm sending lots of ESP to him and his family.

It's a scary situation all right when a pup can't feel safe with their own toys. We'd like to bite the pet toy manufacturer in the butt who let bad toys out on the market.

Kaci likes to play with everything - that includes playing ball. She will chew them so Mama always puts them away. I (Hershey) would rather play frisbee or with my stuffies.

I just read Chai's blog.. OMdoG.. it is terrible! Ball toys have always been my favourite so I am going to get mom to check all my balls (I am referring to the toys) tonight..

very good advice to always check the toys! I don't let toys lying around the house at all, Xsara only plays under supervision. Before leaving her home alone I make sure that I make her tired first, or if I can't I leave her a chewie (edible).

My mom read that story yesterday and was horrified at how badly Chai was hurt. I don't have any balls like that. Last night I went to Petco with my mom and we were looking to see if that ball was there but didn't see any. I did see one with only one hole but it was really, really hard. I wonder it that's dangerous too?

Thank you for the heads up on the toys Happy. Mum has checked all mine, i like big tug ropes mostly and am not a fan of balls and kongs etc (luckily!!) Mum will pass on the info to all our doggy owning friends too. You look so cute guarding that ball!! I do that with bones.. hehehe
