When Visitors Come

I'm in dull park at the moment. Since there's nothing to bark about, thought I'd share this email.

We're reaching year end soon. A season when our homes are subjected to a lot of visiting... So here's something to help our humans cope with visiting guests. Especially the ones who has yet to have the privilege of getting acquainted with charming us.

Excuses for Your Dog's Bad Over Friendly Manner

1. Your dog jumps on little Aunt Millie at the front door.
a. Such a sweet doggie. He loves his Aunt Millie and can't get enough of her.
b. Now don't spoil her, Aunt Millie!

2. Your dog steals the roast beef off the counter.
a. I guess he was tired of waiting for us to stop chatting.
b. There must have been something wrong with the meat. He eats anything questionable so we don't get sick. (Funny, it is usually the meaty main course).

3. Your dog begs at the dinner table.
a. He never does that!
b. He must really like you.
c. He always pick the thinnest person at the table!

4. Your dog barks at each newcomer for several minutes.
a. Don't pay any attention to him.
b. He never usually barks at our guests.
c. What did you say to him?

5. Your *large dog jumps up on and lies across the sofa - and your friends.
a. Just ignore him.
b. Does he have enough room?
c. Just push him off if he gets too heavy.

*small dogs included*

Would you like to contribute an excuse for this?

LOL ... for item #2, we don't need an excuse. Everyone expects that behavior from Tucker. We would need an excuse if he DIDN'T do it.

Those are some good reasons for the things we do. We are storing them in memory.

Funny post Happy. Hope my legged took note. here's my contribution for the guests!

a) guest always warm the bed up for the dog before settling on the floor.
b)the dog will sleep in nothing but the best Egyptian cotton 300 thread count bedlinen. While we always provide nice fun patterned nylon bedlinen for guests.
c) the poor dog had such a restless night. How was yours?

Wiry wags n kisses Eric xx

Great post and one to which all dog-lovers can relate. 'Dogs on settee, pushing off humans' is particularly apt for this household!

He's noticed that there's a spider on the roof directly above the bed and he's keeping watch for you.

Your dog steals the roast beef off the counter.
At least he steals from YOUR counter.

When I was in Singapore, they have terraces houses, and some one's cat used to visit other flats and steal their fish. My friend had just cooked her fish, left it on her counter, when her back was turned, a cat had stolen her dinner.

Ohhh LS & Happy! Always a DELIGHT!
Great tips! Some days I do well with all 6 and some are not so well with some of the 6 but we try & make adjustments. These photos are so cute! You are so clever! And I have no excuses for the last one...my dogs no longer get to be on the bed! They have their own place. God bless each one!
