Thankful Thursday

Hosted with grace by Iris

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you - Colossians 3:13

This week I'm thankful for the timely reminder on forgiveness. A lesson I've learned, only to forget time and again. Recently a neighbour has again caused me to hold grudges and misgivings. How heavy laden one's heart is when we hold such grievances. As such in my case too.

So this week I've been reminded again through these excerpts I've received :

We must be quick to forgive because harboring unforgiveness in our hearts can be compared to drinking poison and hoping the other person dies from that poison.

We hurt ourselves more than anyone else when we refuse to forgive those who have hurt or done something wrong against us.

Be encouraged to have a forgiving heart knowing that you will benefit far more by forgiving than you ever can by holding a grudge in your heart.

"To forgive is to set the prisoner free and discover the prisoner was you"

I'm also thankful for Happy. I've certainly learned a lot about forgiving from her many a times. It's amazing how our pets do not hold grudges against us and continue to love us the way we are. We have a lot to learn from them.

Today marks the 6th year since Happy came into my life. I'm truly thankful for this furry bundle of joy.

Happy :

"To err is human. To forgive is canine"

Once again, I'm thankful for these words of wisdom that we are able to impart to the humans.

I'm thankful too for keeping LS sane and normal throughout these 6 years. Otherwise, this blog would've probably been all about cleaning agents, sanitizers...coffee-holics?

What would've your humans blog about if not you?

Hope everyone is having a thankful time too.

Happy 6th anniversary to both of you, LS and Happy! Thank God that you have each other's friendship for 6 years already. It is truly a blessing to have a friend who is always forgiving and loving. It is not easy to forgive those who has hurt us but there is no other way to liberate ourselves from the pain! I am learning that time and again too. Thank God that He has forgiven us of our sins and He can help us to forgive others and love them with His love. Thanks for sharing this precious reminder with us. Love this sweet picture :)

Thanks for praying for Emily. Take care and have a blessed day too!

Happy 6th Gotcha Day Sweetie, thats 6 years of pure joy you have given, quite an achievement!

If Mum was in control of this blog, and wasn't talking about me then i'm pretty sure she would be babbling on about Latte in every post, how much she loves Latte, how delicious it is, what she eats with a Latte, what time she drinks it blah blah blah.. how boring would that be? So I guess we should all be thankful for me, because without me see what you would have to put up with??

Bravo Bravo Bravo, Happy!
I so look forward to all your wisdom and words on Thursday. I know my mum is always forgiving me, which is great, but sometimes she needs to be reminded to forgive her friends and enemies, and sometimes herself too, and daddy almost daily.

Happy anniversary to you and Happy!! I'm glad that you're working to keep your priorities straight. That's really important to remember what matters, and let the little things go. (I wish I had done that more!)

Thank you for your support during these last few difficult days. I really miss T-man, and hope that he's an angel watching over us. I hope to meet up with him again some day.

Happy 6 year Anniversary!

And I completely understand the 'time and again' with forgiveness. There are many a times I just wish I'd get it right the first time, instead of having to repeat like a sad re-run. Praise God for His daily mercies!

Thanks for visiting today!
Have a wonderful day/night!

Forgiveness is such an important subject. There was one time in my life when I really hated some people for the first time in my life. I had never hated anybody. I told God that I knew it was wrong but I just couldn't help it. I really really hated them. Then one day I was reading a book, I think it was one of Max Lucado's books and read the story of Joseph which I was very familiar with, but it brought it home to my heart. I truly forgave them and have no animosity whatsoever towards them any more. I believe this was God's answer to my prayer to help me be able to forgive.

That is so sweet. True how dogs are so quick to forgive. Forgiveness is amazing... sometimes I wonder why it takes us so long to do so. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Thanks for reminding us about forgiveness. It is so true. And yes, dogs (and other animals) are so trusting and loving because we are such forgiving souls... and smarter than lots of humans. Happy 6th anniversary!

It's an easy trap to fall into, one I'm guilty of too. But you're right, and it probably harms us more than anything.
