Thankful Thursday

Hosted at Grace Alone
Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is Peace (Judges 6:24)

LS :

The monkey wrenches are still around. But they have been on frequent long peanut breaks. I'm thankful for that. A breather for me and some peace too. Having inner peace makes us see things in better perspective, doesn't it? I'm thankful for that.

Have I said how thankful I am for my dog? I think I have. Sometimes her funny and mischievous antics can be a stress reliever, depending on how you look at it. LOL.

A few days ago, I was walking out of my bedroom when I stumbled upon Happy trying to paw at some pastries on the dining table. My first reaction was to reprimand her.

But the guilty look on her face plus the hilarious sight of her with two paws on the table and two back legs stretched to the max on the dining chair made me tried so hard not to laugh.

That wouldn't do, for she has to learn that she can't get away with that. So after reprimanding her, I gave her a treat. And then I had a good laugh. Thanks Happy, for some light moments.

Happy :

This is NOT ME in the picture below.

But I was caught in the same situation few days ago.

Attempting to paw at some pastries. On the dining table. With my two front paws in exactly the same way and my two hind legs on the chair...Can you picture it?

I was just a paw away from them when LS walked out from the bedroom. I was bracing for her famous "Who's a naughty girl?" but instead, she said "Feeling hungry, Happy?"

I know I've just turned 6 few months back and as we get older, we tend to lose a bit of our hearing. But do we start hearing things too?

Ok, LS did reprimand me but she also gave me a cream puff after that. Yummy! Yummy! Yummy!

So...I'm thankful that LS was being magnanimous about it. Have you ever tried to reach the dining table? Did you succeed?

Hope everyone is having a thankful time.

Blessings LS...You are such a JOY!!
You definitely spoil that baby Happy! I didn't realize that Happy's 6 months only!?! I would have reprimanded...I have only 1 of the 5 that reaches on to the table, Chispita! The rest can't reach but because they see her try, they try also...so it's a definite no..no! She'll eat or take anything...even money...she ripped a 50 pesos once.
$5 gone like that! Happy...you better be thankful you have LS & she loves you so much! I agree you can take away our stress but you are so spoiled...cream puffs! WOW!
Hope you saw your BIG Butterfly! Just for you & LS! Thanks again for passing on the cool award..I have butterflies in my tummy & mind!
Thanks for blessing us with a chuckle once more! Enjoy your TT!

Man, you were close to getting those Pastries! Too bad your human Mom had to come in just then.

I usually take a flying leap right up onto the dining room table without the help of a chair, 'cause that just shocks the humans so much that it takes them a few seconds 'till they start telling me to get down again. In those few seconds, I can gobble up about 12 cookies, hee hee.

Hi Happy,

I an thankful that you are my friend. I can't reach the kitchen table or counters but give a chance to get on one of the chairs and nothing is safe form my jaws.

I've never had a cream puff but the Mommy does give me a donut hole once in a while.

Can't wait to see your flower pictures.

Pets are the best stress relievers. It is always a blessing to have them around. You can't blame Happy for wanting a treat nor you for giving it.
Happy: I have never been able to get onto a dining room chair. Maybe I will have to think about it if I ever smell treats on the table.

We're so glad that you ended up with a treat, Happy! I've never been a countersurfer but Mitch has snitched food a couple of times and he wasn't fortunate enough to get a treat like you!

Too cute! I, myself, have never been caught with my hand in the cookie jar. No, not me. I do not have dogs. For me it is my cat. This morning she was on my lap with her face rubbing mine and just purring. Oh, such love. Where would we be without them!

When Penny was about six months old we left a whole packet of cellophane-wrapped sweet biscuits in the middle of a large kitchen table and went off to church.

When we arrived home, about an hour later, the packet was on the floor, empty.

Perhaps the fact that we were at church allowed a miracle to happen for Penny, because there seemed to be no way a little puppy could get onto that table - no chairs to leap from, no bench nearby.

It has remained a mystery.

She wasn't given any dinner that evening.

The picture is too cute. It reminds me of my son when he sneaks food and thinks that I am not watching.

This reminds me of when I baked a cake and frosted it before Bible study one night. I left it on the kitchen island only to return and see a lopsided cake with part of it gnawed out on the end. The culprit? Our great dane/lab, Frankie. What can I say? He loves cake. Couldn't get mad either. Thanks for stopping by; God bless your week.

Chow Chow tries a few times to reach the dining table too by standing on his hind legs. Too bad for him, we always say NO!

I bet Chow Chow will keep on trying and it would be easier for him when he gets bigger! Hope Happy is a much better-behaved doggy than Chow Chow. :)

Oh Happy! Your mom is so nice! Sometimes - always? - it's just better to let the no-nos pass and turn them into yes-yeses. Keeps the house peaceful.

As for me, I don't have to stretch to get stuff off the table. I'm so tall I could just paw stuff off. But I prefer to just put my chin on the table and then I get fed just about anything I want!

Love you and your Mom.

Yummy! I love sharing Dad's pastries when he has a latte. We've been doing a lot of that lately as he insists on sitting outside in the cold to get my new sister accustomed to traffic and people in the town. It's no big deal if pastries are involved - I am thankful for pastries.

Hi LS, I know what you mean about the happiness your little dog can bring. At unexpected times they do something that just lights up the day.

Happy, I sorry you got caught but I can't believe your mom went ahead and gave you a pastry! YUM! Yes, I've gotten things off the table. If mom leaves them too close to the edge I can s..t..r..e..a..t..c..h and det them sometimes!
