To Be a Dog Mom

Here's a little tribute (albeit one day late hee...) to all doggie moms out there. We know you would've read this before but still, we couldn't resist posting it again hee...

Before I Was a Dog Mom

Before I was a Dog Mom........

...I cleaned my house everyday, I never tripped over toys, stuffies, chewies, or invited neighbour's dog over to play.

...I didn't worry if my plants, cleansers, plastic bags, toilet paper, soap, or deodorant were poisonous or dangerous.

...I had never been peed on, pooped on, drooled on, chewed on, or pinched by puppy teeth.

...I made and enjoyed hot meals...alone.

...I had unstained, unfurred, clothes, and quiet conversations on the phone, even if the doorbell rang.

...I had complete control of my thoughts, body and mind.

...I slept all night without sharing the covers or my pillow.

...I never looked into big, soulful eyes and cried. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop a hurt. I never knew something so furry and four-legged could affect my heart so deeply.

...I had never held a sleeping puppy just because I couldn't put it down.

...I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was well.

...I didn't know how warm it feels inside to feed a hungry puppy.

...I didn't know something so small could make me feel so important.

...I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a...Dog Mom.

Sorry we're rather late in posting these lovely awards from our dear friends.

Thank you Kodiak & Falcon, and Honey.

There are some rules for passing on this award:

1. Post it on your blog and link to the person who gave it to you
2. List 7 things you love
3. List 7 blogs you love
4. Email or comment on those blogs to let them know you've given them an award

Here are the 7 things I love:

1. Human food
2. My rubber ball

4. My squeaky toys
5. Sitting at the balcony looking out at the world passing by
6. Lazing on the chair
7. Belly rubs

Hi Happy,
That's a great post... our mom agrees with it 100%.. she says Hershey is plotting to kill her by leaving her toys, especially balls, along the route from the bed to the toilet. Mom's tripped on them countless times when she goes to the toilet at night!! Heehee...
